I was born and raised in a small town outside of St. Louis, Grover, MO.  Education and athletics were a major focus throughout my childhood.

Youth athletics was my first love and my first independent teacher in life.  Sports instilled a personal foundation that have prepared me for challenges throughout my professional career.  Sports enhance pillars that commonly fuel success, abilities like work ethic, dedication, and personal evaluation of performance.  An individual that has accomplished monumental tasks has done so outside of their comfort zone.  Athletics allowed me to learn skills through failure, helped me understand the importance of training, spurred creativity through the implementation of game plans, taught me how to overcome challenges during adversity, and showed me outcomes are often expounded by team chemistry.

I started my professional career in the radio/television business.  My first position was a data entry specialist. I was responsible for filling out spreadsheets, using data obtained from Neilson reports.  After some experience, I became a media planner and negotiated advertising rates for tv stations during sweeps campaigns. I learned how to use print, radio, cable, direct mailing, billboards, and alternative advertising as marketing mediums.  During my tenure, I amplified my understanding of demographics and how to target beneficial segments of the market.  This experience educated me on how to improve campaign effectiveness through measurements and numerical data.  I completed my bachelor’s in marketing at Missouri State University while working at SG Media Marketing.

My first job after graduation was in the transportation industry. I started as Management Trainee at Enterprise Holdings and worked my way through their management program. I was able to experience a larger corporate structure that excels at customer service and focuses on improving communities they work in. This opportunity allowed me to work with and serve people from different cultures.  As a manager, I learned how different metrics on balance statement affect the profitability of a business.  My time at Enterprise exposed me to the ingredients needed to grow a small business into a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate.

My next position fulfilled one of my career goals and accounted for nearly a decade of my professional experience. My first position in medical device sales was a National Sales Representative for a Doppler company.  My first territory was a 15-state territory in the Northeastern portion of the United States.  I was responsible for sales outcomes in the clinical and surgical divisions.  After exceeding double digit YOY growth, I was promoted to a Senior Sales Representative. I learned to be proficient in surgical and clinical environments throughout the purchasing and service cycles. I was fortunate enough to experience the process of bringing multiple clinical and surgical products through the class 2 FDA approval process. I became a specialist in CPT/ICD coding and ISO requirements in medical establishments.  My job experience in the medical field allowed me to become competent in national and international business operations.

I am interested in discussing business objectives in any industry.  I have had a variety of experiences throughout my professional career.  My background has taught me how to build successful processes in any circumstance.  I am a big picture thinker, with the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.

Seven Principles

of Success

1.  Believe in a purpose greater than yourself.

2.  Great leaders are also great listeners.

3.  Leadership is service, not control, responsibility, or authority.  Leadership is helping others succeed.

4.  Have the courage to lead yet be humble enough to know you may be wrong or know too little.

5.  Show your appreciation to all members of the team and community.

6.  When you don’t know what to do, “do the right thing”, even when difficult, uncomfortable, or unpopular.

7.  Most importantly, put our customers and community first in all you do.
